NCDOT, GIS-based Regional Environmental Modeling, Multiple Counties, NC. Western Plants Coordinator assisting NCDOT in developing a GIS-based regional environmental model to streamline the project delivery process. This is a statewide effort focusing on eight regions of NCDOT. Using available data sets, field data collection, and predicative modeling techniques, NCDOT expects to utilize the most current and accurate data to streamline project delivery through increased use of GIS-based data layers and analysis. SEPI staff is involved with leading noise analysis, threatened, and endangered species assessment, GIS analysis, field data collection, and evaluating policy improvements.
